About Sunnynook Scouts

Sunnynook Scouts is a vibrant and rewarding community for children, leaders, and parent volunteers. Through a structured programme of adventure-based learning, we help youth build teamwork, confidence, and responsibility—preparing them for life beyond school.

Our values are at the heart of everything we do:

  • Have Respect
  • Be Positive
  • Do What Is Right

Members participate in weekly evening meetings, weekend camps, and various activities throughout the year.

Who Can Join?

We welcome both boys and girls across three age groups:

  • Keas: Years 1–3
  • Cubs: Years 4–6
  • Scouts: Years 7–10

Costs

  • Term Fee: $150 (includes meetings, insurance, and membership)
  • Camps: Typically $75 per weekend
  • Special Activities: $10–$20 depending on venue
Discounts are available for families with multiple children and for children of leaders or committee members.

Leadership & Safety

Our group is entirely volunteer-run, keeping costs low and community engagement high. Most leaders and committee members are parents of youth participants. All leaders are police-vetted and undergo comprehensive training, fully funded by the group.

Location

We meet at the Sunnynook Scout Hall in Sunnynook Park, with convenient parking available.
